What is inside my make-up kits? That´s one of the most frequent questions people ask me. Here´s a list of my absolute favorite products, I highly recommend you check these out.
MAQPRO Fard Crème (Wax based) Makeup Palettes are my new make-up kit favorites! This stuff melts into the skin and looks like a second skin. Very fine HD proof texture. Lovely!

MaqPro (Le Maquillage Professionnel) is a French Make-up company that does actually produce their products in France, out of high quality raw materials. For me being on a crusade against manufacturing make-up abroad this is a dream come true! Great quality!

Of course they are making them in smaller palettes too. Besides the 36 color palette they make, 8, 10 and 10 color lip palettes as well as trios and individual pan sticks.
My 5 Essential Make-up Artist Skincare Items

1 - Micellar Lotion (Embryolisse) Helps toning the skin while actually cleaning it.
2 - Foundation Primer (Laura Mercier) Gotta love this primer. So smooth and even…
3 - Lait-Crème Concentrè (Embryolisse) THE cream / primer for normal and dry skin.
4 - Blot Out Offensive (Nurturing Force) The most effective anti-shine I have ever seen.
5 - Lip Balm #1 (Kiehl´s) Can be used as a mixing medium for any lipstick or even alone.
Numeric Proof is also a French make-up manufacturer specializing in HD make-up.
These eye shadows are nothing but phenomenal. I started using the 24 Color Design Palette but that is really too big to hold so I got a few smaller empty palettes and put the shadows in there. I am really happy with this product, there are all necessary shades one needs to work. There is a lot of pigment in these and they last forever.
No make-up kit without BeautySoClean.
I am proudly supported by them and their products have never failed me. A brilliant range of cosmetic sanitizers that do not ruin the makeup. It´s like that hand sanitizer for your makeup. Check it out: BSC Website
Use the spray on powders and palettes, the wipes on lipgloss applicators, mascara wands and eye-liner pencils and I hope I don’t have to explain where the brush cleanser goes.
Speaking of which, it has been tested to leave the brushes non-toxic and safe to be used on the skin without rinsing it off. On set, that is worth its weight in gold.
The London Brush Company – Look no further than this, you won´t find anything better.

nouVeau are made from Premium Vegan Mongoose and Vegan Blue Squirrel in the USA. The handles are made from wood from sustainable forests and any glues used are purely vegetable based. No animal products contribute to the manufacture of this collection.
What else do I use? A lot. Here you go with a few more items:
- Aqua Cream Eyeshadows (Make Up For Ever)
- High Definition Cream Eyeliner (Kyrolan)
- Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara (MAC Cosmetics)
- Sett Powder Pressed / Loose (Kett Cosmetics)
- Semi-loose Powder (Yves Saint Laurent)
Note: This is not an advertisement page, none of these companies pay me to be mentioned on here and I wont accept any offers to do so in the future. This is what I really work with.
I appreciate the details of why you like a certain product and how it works.
Right, it´s always the fine details that make a true difference in products because overall a product of a kind is always a product of that kind. What makes THAT one special is “X” and/or “Y” and when I need those effects, that particular product is priceless
What a nice collection!
Thank you for a great, straight to the point resource website. I’m a personal stylist and would like to teach and sell makeup to clients who are new to makeup or want to get their face made up in 5 minutes before they head off to work in the morning. So, the goal is really simple and quick makeup application. Quite similar to your Fixx Creme and Hydro Blush tutorial. I’m considering Kett Hydro Foundation (for fans of liquids as it\’s silicone free-which some people are sensitive to.) and Kryolan TV Paintstick or Ultra Foundation (cream) as Kett Cream is not easily accessible here in Australia. Would love your thoughts on Kryolan\’s paintstick and ultra foundation. I am also tempted to include Kryolan wet/dry foundation as it\’s so easy for clients to apply. I noted the risk of looking too powdery but Wayne Goss showed that it\’s possible for powder foundation to look like skin by applying a setting spray in his 60 seconds flawless face tutorial.
Hello Tessa,
thank you, I´m doing my best to keep it up and growing :) I know Kryolan products really well and I can only say that these two options will not work in an every day context. The TV paint sticks are far a away from a natural finish, they were made for stage and tv back in the days when HD wasn´t even here. Today, everyone has an “HD” camera built in to their phone so we need to think about micro fine finishes a bit more. The Ultra foundation has a beautiful finish to it, I used it some years ago but in the end I preferred using Dermacolor light (also from Kryolan) because it has more pigments and it is not as slippery. I have tried all of those creams and there is a reason for choosing Kett Fixx Creme, simply because it is THE best cream make-up available at the moment. (IMHO). Australian costumers can order Kett Cosmetics products from Here.
Wet/dry foundation will work beautifully for people who only need a little bit or “actually nothing”, I wouldn´t use it for corrective make-up or for skin being older than 30-35 years.
Steve, thank you very much for your prompt reply. I actually checked out the AUS website before posting my question here and confirmed with them that they don’t carry the Fixx Cream as they reckon there are other products in their range which they consider perform the same function ie: Ben Nye HD Foundations. : ( . Your response confirmed my suspicion that Kett Fixx is the way to go but sourcing it will be tricky. I might have to stick to Kett Hydro since it’s available here and combine it with corrector/concealer for more problematic skin. Thank you also for the feedback on wet/dry foundation as my clients will be 30+ years old and have to manage their fine lines. My clients are not models or celebrities who are in the public limelight but women want a quick and effective makeup so they’re free to channel their energy towards achieving their life goals rather than mucking about with makeup. Thank you again for your time in replying to my question.
What kind of business thinking is that? Why can´t they just order this for you? Stupid… I´m not even sure that´s how Kett deals it, I´ll have a word with them and then get back to you.
Hi Steve, thank you for willing to follow it up for me. Greatly appreciate it!! I’ll definitely include a visit to a Kett makeup store when I’m in Berlin. Is there a specific one you can recommend? May I drop your name when I’m in their store? ; )
Go to Maske Berlin (Ansbacher Str. 71) and yes you can give them a friendly “Hello from Steve”
I had a blast in Berlin (fabulous city!) and met the lovely Annabel at Maske Berlin. She recommended Fixx Creme O3 for under eye and Hydro in O5 for the rest of the face. We also applied MUFE HD Foundation in 153 on the right side of my face just to compare both brands. Both are great but I prefer Kett Hydro. It feels like there’s nothing on the skin. Thanks again for the recom!
How lovely to hear from you and I´m glad you had a good time in Berlin! It is a beautiful city and a big yeeeha you like the make-up we´ve all chosen for you
Haha, those lbc brushes look like your logo
Well… a LITTLE bit…
is the maqpro stuff expensive? where can I get this in the uk? in london?
No, not at all and yes, directly in London at PAM
They do also ship worldwide
